Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Highbury has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place.

Our Business and Supply Chain

Man with Van Highbury operates in the transport and removals sector, providing local and regional moving, delivery, and related services. Our activities rely on a network of drivers, operational staff, vehicle suppliers, fuel providers, equipment suppliers, and a range of other service partners. We recognise that the transport, logistics, and support services sectors can be exposed to risks of labour exploitation, including the use of forced labour, deceptive recruitment, and poor working conditions.

We are committed to mapping and understanding our supply chain and to working collaboratively with our suppliers and partners to prevent and address any risks of modern slavery or human trafficking.

Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery

We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. This applies to every aspect of our operations, including the treatment of our workers, the expectations we place on our suppliers and contractors, and the standards we apply when entering into new commercial relationships.

Our zero-tolerance position means we will not knowingly work with any organisation, individual, or intermediary that engages in or condones forced labour, bonded labour, child labour that is not in line with applicable laws, servitude, human trafficking, or any form of exploitation or abuse. Where we identify non-compliance or credible concerns, we will take appropriate and proportionate action, which may include requiring corrective measures, suspending cooperation, or terminating contracts.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers, subcontractors, and business partners to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and to operate with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. Our supplier standards, which form part of our commercial terms, require suppliers to comply with all applicable laws related to labour, employment, health and safety, and human rights, and specifically to prohibit forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.

We are working towards a risk-based supplier due diligence and audit programme. This includes assessing suppliers based on the nature of the services they provide, their geographic location, and the level of reliance we place on them. For higher-risk suppliers, we may request additional documentation or undertake targeted reviews of their labour practices, recruitment methods, and workforce conditions. Where feasible, we may conduct site visits or remote audits, and we reserve the right to request corrective action plans and follow-up evidence of improvements.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

We encourage a culture of openness, where concerns about modern slavery, exploitation, or unethical behaviour can be raised without fear of retaliation. All workers, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any suspicion or evidence of modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations or supply chains.

Concerns can be raised directly with line managers, senior management, or through any internal reporting mechanism we make available. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated promptly and fairly. We will not tolerate victimisation of any person who raises a concern in good faith, and we will ensure that those who speak up are supported.

Training and Awareness

We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and key suppliers. As our processes develop, we aim to provide training for managers and staff involved in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment. This training will focus on recognising indicators of modern slavery, understanding our policies and responsibilities, and knowing how to respond to concerns.

Information about our zero-tolerance approach and reporting channels is communicated internally, and we expect managers to reinforce these messages and lead by example.

Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review

Responsibility for overseeing our response to modern slavery risks sits with the senior management of Man with Van Highbury. They are responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of our policies, due diligence processes, and training, and for ensuring that appropriate resources are allocated to address identified risks.

We will review this Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement at least once every year, or more frequently if required by changes in legislation, our business operations, or risk profile. As part of the annual review, we will consider feedback from staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders, along with any incidents or concerns raised, and use these insights to strengthen our approach. We are committed to continuous improvement and will revise our practices as necessary to enhance protections against modern slavery throughout our operations and supply chains.

This statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Highbury and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
